Auburn. In the Clare Valley. This fine stone Anglican church opened in 1862 . Made of local stone. Builder and designer was an Auburn stone mason resident Jospeh Meller.

•Anglican Church. St John’s Anglican was opened in 1862, after costing £800 to build. It is built of blue stone with local sandstone quoins and window arches. This fine Gothic church is unusual in that the main entrance is on the southern side (instead of the usual western side). Mellor, the stonemason, considered the stone window surrounds his finest work.
