S & W .38 Special and an Iver Johnson .38 cal 5-shot pocket pistol
This Iver Johnson was my grandfather's pocket pistol carried when he was a bartender in Sanger, California. It is a 5-shot .38 cal and this model was first patented April 6, 1886, by the Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works.
The Smith & Wesson is the currently designated Model 10 K-frame revolver. It was introduced in 1899 and became S & W's Military & Police (M & P) revolver. First used by American military and police it's popularity spread to military and police units worldwide. It was even carried by some pilots in the Vietnam War. This particular revolver is a Model 10-6 and was sold new in about 1970.
