Utata's Iron Photographer challenge 230 invites compositions with

 

1 - fruit (green apple)

2 - a fashion accessory (glove)

3 - cross processed (faux Lomo Xpro 200 look)

 

Background

I ran across a Lomography article describing cross-processed films in terms of their color shifts and realized there must be more than the meager blue or green presets I've heretofore used. Along the way I learned slide film shows increased contrast when cross-processed (negative film shows reduced contrast). And the wild color shifts result from the specific dye couplers used in each film, thus overall color casts can be reliably achieved.

 

I sought to recreate the yellow tinged, contrasty look of cross-processed Lomography Xpro 200 film using Adobe Lightroom, Topaz Clarity and Topaz Restyle.

 

I shot an image against the sun to obtain large, overexposed areas common in cross-processed images.

 

Glove details were enhanced in Clarity (microcontrast, low contrast) for a "gritty" look

 

Restyle was used to copy the color palette of an image I like and blend it with this one.

 

Lastly, I know George Martin didn't found Apple. He made that and so many other wonderful, if less renowned, works possible by seeing promise where others did not. I hear his influence every time I press "play".
