The Seafield Arms Hotel

The Seafield Arms Hotel with a handcart & horse used to transport visitor’s luggage from Cullen Station.

The Seafield Arms Hotel, originally called ‘The Cullen Hotel’, was built in 1822 by Colonel Francis Grant as part of the new town of Cullen. Early Tenants were the Watson Family who occupied the farm of Denside at the same time. James Caird, was another tenant and until he retired wore tartan trews, light vest and square hat.

After James Caird the tenants were David Falconer in 1882, Mrs Falconer in 1892, and Mrs Templeton in 1894. In 1908 Caroline Countess of Seafield sold the hotel to Benjamin Miller who was at the time the owner and licensee of the Grant Arms Hotel in Cullen.
