Northumberland Street Newcastle upon Tyne 2002

Amos Atkinson’s early nineteenth century building was decorated with fancy plasterwork in 1953 to celebrate the Coronation of our present Queen. This decorative treatment, now painted white, can clearly be seen in this 2002 photograph. 2002 was the year of Queen Elizabeth II’s golden jubilee.
