Telegraph Creek
The small hamlet of Telegraph Creek British Columbia.
At about 150 miles upstream on the Stikine, this is the farthest the river boats made it upstream. Just east is the Grand Canyon of the Stikine and 100 mile long canyon that features many 1000 ft sheer drops with no back eddies or beaches to rest, we were told that more men have walked on the surface of the moon than have floated the Stikine's Grand Canyon. At one point appearently, this river, one of North America's largest rivers is only 1 meter wide and who knows how deep.
