'Austere Facade, Affable Faith'

The modernistic concrete facade of Iceland's Hallgrímskirkja Cathedral in Reykjavik is foreboding especially in some of the ferocious weather conditions it faces. However once inside the awesome architecture and religious décor provides the peace and simplicity for a truly spiritual uplift.

 

My graphic rendition was my way of conveying the impact of this remarkable piece of modern religious architecture.
