IMG_8644-0(W)c Sub-adult Butler's Wolf Snake or Mountain Wolf Snake (Lycodon butleri).

Location: Perak, Malaysia

Size: about 18-21cm

Toxicity: Non-venomous

In the beginning it was quite nervous, kinda aggressive/active but after 10 minutes it calm down because it knows that we meant no harm.

The Mountain or Butler's Wolf Snake is endemic to Peninsular Malaysia, and seems restricted to montane habitats.

Its slender body is dark brown, patterned with numerous irregular pale bands which are widely spaced towards the head but become more closely spaced towards the tail. The species lacks a pale collar, which is a feature of other Lycodon species, such as the Common House Snake L. capucinus. The head is slightly wider than the body, and the eye is of medium size compare to other Lycodon sp.
