Just a hint of sunlight (8:08AM) . . .
I had fortunately decided this morning to go to the Quiraing with the hopes of catching a good sunrise. The sunrise wasn't to be as the clouds moved in to block the light, but the cloud movement and resulting shifting sunlight made for a spectacular morning. My location was near the Prison with a view toward the Trotternish ridge, visible is Cnòc a Mhèrlich, Cleat and Bioda Buidhe. Behind Cleat and with its top hidden in the clouds is Beinn Edra.
At this moment the sunlight is highlighting the clouds over Beinn Edra, but on the landscape itself there are only a few bright areas on Cleat, the base of Dun Dubh and Cnòc a Mhèrlich.
With hindsight, a two camera set up would have been ideal . . . the second camera being stationary and set with a timer taking an image every 15-30 seconds for a time lapse video.
