“The Country Gentleman” (1852-1955) was an American agricultural magazine founded by Luther Tucker. It was the leading magazine for rural America during the first half of the 20th century, when the U.S. had a large rural population. N. C. Wyeth had an active working relationship with it for decades. By 1955, the magazine had a circulation of nearly three million, and that year it was purchased by, and merged with the “Farm Journal.”
