Bichoo Ghas
Someone who tells me what this is called (in English), gets a respectful look from me!
I tried googling it, in vain.
This is a common shrub that grows in most parts of Kumaon - touch it with your bare hands (or body part) and it'd start itching a lot. Parents use it as a weapon, after dipping it in water and then caning the hind-side. Also, the leaves are cooked to make a 'saag' like veggie dish - I've had it, not so good. Shishoon is the local term for this plant.
