Aquatic Plants !

This picture shows an example of an aquatic plant called Salvinia. This plant is commonly seen in ponds, adding to its overall aesthetic environment. Each leaf is a stunning shade of green with brown root-like hairs on the underside of the plant. This floating fern has photosynthetic bacteria. This helps the aquatic environment to support the development of organisms and growth of invertebrates. This cool little plant also can survive with minimal root support! Other plants with this ability are called Lemna and Marselia. They also have a poorly developed vascular system. Aquatic Plants like the water hyacinth have extensive roots.
