Norwegian Summer Forest Lake
Summertime reflections on the lilypad-strewn surface of Skjennungen, a forest lake deep in the Nordmarka, above Oslo. At the heart of a network of hundreds of kilometers of trails (hiking and biking in summer, illuminated for nordic skiing in winter) in the forests surrounding the city, and easily accessible by public transportation. This particular lake is one of about seven along one of my favorite 15-20km routes through the woods, stretching between the ends of subway lines 1 and 6.
