They are all shown kneeling on either side of a prayer desk with a skull on the chequerboard floor.
It was erected in 1639 by their 4th son John, later Bishop of Worcester, who is shown wearing a black cassock underneath a scarlet sleeveless doctor's gown or academical cope (closed in front), with black armholes, and small black hood, a black skull-cap on his head, and a square cap lying beside him
Although there is much information about their famous son - - there is sadly not much about them
John was possibly the son of Hugh Prideaux 1559 & great grandson of William Prideaux & Alice Giffard. +++
He was possibly a 2nd cousin to Thomas Williams 1566 on another brass here www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/581f1UAm5i whose mother was Alice Prideaux daughter of William and Alice +++ and who was also born at Stowford

The death of John senior or indeed having to rear 12 children, left resources stretched and the latter part of his 4th son John's early education, probably at Ashburton grammar school, was sponsored by wealthy Lady Fowell of the same parish, he is said to have later walked the 170 miles to Oxford under her sponsorship in 1596
The monument was cleaned and restored to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2012 by the Harford PCC who paid the cost .
