Extra everything, Pt. 4 - _TNY_9719

My wife found this sexy larvae of the rusty tussock moth (Orgyia antiqua) munching away inside the foliage of a purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria). It really looks like the design team went all-in on the styling on this one!

A photo of the adult male moth (with impressive fur and antennae) can be found here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/20748254344

The adult guys become beautiful moths with impressive antennae, but the girls are wingless and spend their entire life next to the cocoon, waiting for a male to find it so they can mate before she lays here eggs right there and die.
