Mausoleum of Aisha Bibi-closer!

A closer look at the mausoleum, one of the few and best preserved examples of central asian architecture from before the mongol invasion.

Aisha Bibi was supposedly a young woman who was engaged to Karakhan (yeah, that guy who is buried in the Karakhan mausoleum in the middle of Taraz). As she made her way to Taraz to marry Karakhan, she was bit by a snake and died. Karakhan built this mausoleum in her honor on the site where she died, and then he never married anyone else.
