Marion Wallace Edison Page; Birthplace of Thomas Edison; Milan, OH

Inventor of the phonograph, the incandescent light bulb, and many other devices that make our lives fuller and simpler, Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, in 1847. Displayed in Thomas's birthplace home, this framed picture shows Edison's oldest sister Marion Wallace Edison Page. She was born September 1829 in Vienna, Ontario, Canada, and married in the Milan Birthplace in 1849. She died in Chicago January 31, 1900 and is buried in the Milan Cemetery.
