1965 Mercury Monterey Sedan

The 1965-68 sixth generation Monterey got more of a slab sided look. The Monterey was the base model below the Montclair and the top of the line Parklane.

1965, flat grille stepping out in the centre, available in 2 and 4 door Sedans, 2 and 4 door Hardtops and Convertible, the Breezeway window was available on the 4 door Sedan, the Marauder had a fastback roof, bucket seats and a console.

Engines; 300 or 330hp 390 and 425hp 427 cu in V8s

1966, the grille now pointed in the centre, the 2 door was a notchback for the first half of the year, then a fastback for the second half, the 330hp 410 and 345hp 428 FE engines added.

1967, grille with central horizontal bar, the hood got a raised centre section, the breezeway roofline was gone, but the drop down window still available.

1968, a plainer look, horizontal grille bars
