1964 Mazda R360 Coupe
The first Mazda vehicle was produced in 1931. these were three wheel trucks. This was Mazda's first car, a very small 2 door Coupe built from 1960-66. The R360 was great value for money, hence was very successful The attraction of the R360 Coupe was not price alone. It featured the first car in Japan to have a torque converter and a host of other cutting-edge technologies Mazda had developed. The R360 Coupe was also the first micro-mini passenger car to be equipped with a four-stroke engine, realizing better durability and fuel economy than its two-stroke counterpart. It was powered by a rear-mounted air-cooled 356 cc V-twin engine putting out about 16 hp.
The Mazda R360 was complemented by the more grown-up 2-door sedan Mazda P360 Carol in February 1962
