Lower Puohokamoa Falls

The guide book on this says it short walk to the base of the falls that can be treacherous near the end.

Well I never got close to the bottom, it got treacherous within a 100 feet. I had on my Merrel hiking shoes, never had them slip, until I hit this trail. It was misting rain and the trail is slippery mud, and on the edge of a canyon. This falls is a 200 foot drop.

So I come to a rough area on this trail with roots going through it with mud everywhere. So I step down on one of the roots, and foot goes out from me and I hit hard on my right side and jamb two fingers, that still hurt, on my right hand. So I stand up, hit a root and hit hard again, the same way. So I finally navigate this go about 20 feet and what I do I see, a whole path of roots and mud on edge of 80 feet drop.

So I shot this picture just before that spot on the trail, and headed back up the trail, slipping and falling through that same area. The next day I have the 2 jambed fingers, a sore back that hurts like hell if I move and and a sore shoulder.

So if you don't like this photo (Jones), tough %#%&. I earned it.
