John Laurens
He was an aid to General George Washington during the war and fought in every battle Washington fought in. He also helped draw the battle plans in most these battles. When Lord Cornwallis surrendered to end the land part of the Revolutionary War, John Laurens was handed his sword. Washington would send Laurens to France after the war to make sure the French Navy will help out with the war at sea that was till going on. He is buried in Laurens Family Cemetery on the grounds of Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, SC.
