Sorrento Musical - Teatro Tasso, Sorrento - Act Three - Terza Parte
One evening in Sorrento we went to see Sorrento Musical.
Unlike other theatres, they allow you to take photos and videos inside (I took photos).
Put my camera into 16:9 rather than 4:3.
As we had already had dinner at the hotel, we only went to see the show at 9:30pm (local time).
The show in action. It lasted around an hour and a half.
This was while the Euro 2012 Final between Italy and Spain was on (so missed it). Spain beat Italy 4-0.
When we left, I saw fireworks from the piazza.
This is Act Three / Terza Parte.
At sunset, with Vesuvious on the horizon, love is the only song to be sung. The landscapes which attracted the famous writers of "The Grand Tour" (from Goethe to Wagner, from Nietzsche to Croce) express their eternal charm through the songs that were written here: 'O sole mio, 'O sapore de' cerase.
Show
On the stage of the Tasso Theatre, the tradition of two centuries of Neapolitan dances, costumes and music transforms into an impressive musical. Magical songs such as "TORNA A SURRIENTO" fascinate spectators and carry them back in time through an historically accurate scenery. The show, which lasts 75 minutes, recounts the daily life of southern Italians through four different scenes.
