Blyth Market Place in 1927

Great ariel shot of the town centre. The market place was much smaller back then as part of it was occupied by the Central Hall Cinema and other buildings.

Blyth Valley Council spent millions of pounds ruining the market place, it's now just a grey desolate windswept open space!

The Gas Works are located at the top of the picture, along with railway siding leading into the works, now all long gone.
