Mountain Zebra in the Mopani

The mountain zebra is a much more stunning animal than is the Burchells zebra. This subspecies lives only in the western part of Etosha, whereas the Burchells traditionally have lived only in the eastern part of the park (they have since moved west as well, when artificial water holes lured them there). The mountain zebra has stripes all the way down the legs, & the stripes are much bolder & lack ghosts. This subspecies also has a neck wattle that is lacking in the Burchells. Mountain zebras seem to be less ass-like & appear to be much prouder & bolder. Whereas Burchells zebras tend to wander off quickly when approached, mountain zebras perk up, stand their ground, & snort with curiosity.
