[10079] Ranmoor : Tapton Hall
Tapton Hall, Shore Lane, Ranmoor, Sheffield, 1855.
By Flockton, Lee & Flockton.
Grade ll listed.
For Edward Vickers, one of the most prominent steel manufacturers in 19th century Sheffield.
From 1867 to 1967, the house was the home of the Wilson family, snuff manufacturers.
Now a Masonic Hall.
The hideous extension by Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson & Partners, 1967.
I can't help but wonder how the freemasons got planning permission for this.
