Giant Ferrero Rocher Cake
A VERY special cake - for my son's 20th birthday. I say 'cake', but cake is only a small part of this. The outer shell is home-made Rice Krispie treats, covered with chocolate ganache and chopped hazelnuts and then once set, more chocolate. Inside that is a home-made chocolate-hazelnut mousse.... in which is nestled a 4" chocolate-hazelnut sphere of cake.... in the centre of which are roasted hazelnuts. We travelled all the way to Exeter (where he's at uni) by train! It was a nerve-wracking journey, but it was worth it to spend the day with him.
