Wetside view
Anakena beach, north coast of Easter Island. A couple of idyllic tropical beaches add another attraction to the island besides mysterious polynesian sculptures and volcanic craters. There are a couple of sculptures behind the beach here(see notes), but they face away from the water and due south, so the faces don't get illuminated by the sun in June, and it's impossible to get a photo of them with the beach in the background without wings.
This is the view from the water waist deep taken the next day in the afternoon, on a Saturday with more people on the beach. The hilltop is where the other photo was taken.
