Lake Huacachina - Peru

If you think Peru is only Andes, Inca and Machu Picchu than you are wrong.

Only 6 kilometers from Ica, lake Huacachina is a popular attraction. A true oasis, it is a green spot in a sea of sand. The area around the lake is known for dune buggy trips and sandboarding.

I wanted a sunrise picture, but when standing here at 6am the whole area was covered in a thick layer of fog. So i waited and waited and waited and waited and finally almost 3 hours later the sun came through and the yellow sandunes looked like gold. The duck was a bonus saying Buenos Días on this lovely morning.....sometimes waiting pays off.
