Trafford

Longford Park in Stretford is the largest park in Trafford Borough, covering an area of 54 acres. It was once the estate of John Rylands, whose widow founded the famous library of that name in Deansgate in Manchester. It was sold in 1911 to Stretford Council. All that remains of the Rylands's house, Longford Hall, is this porch, behind which is a small garden. The house was demolished as recently as 1995.
