Madness - ‘M’ logo promotional/merchandise badge (1990’s / 2000’s)

Madness is a British ska band formed in 1979 and who continue to tour and perform their music. The band is especially renowned for their chart hits spanning from the end of the 70’s through to the mid-80’s, as well as the iconic videos that accompanied their songs. The band broke up in 1986 but reconvened in 1992 to reform the group and who are still touring as well as writing new songs. They continue to perform with six of the seven members of their original line-up.

 

This badge depicts the group’s ‘M’ logo or ‘M-Man’ emblem. The shape of the Madness logo forms a stylised letter M and whose design was influenced by the Blues Brothers style of dress.
