(The multiple king post truss design used on the Colvin Covered Bridge, is to some extent, a modified version. The diagonal posts of king post do not extend upward to the roof of the bridge, but rather just below a "stringer" support. The other diagonal post extend to the king post extend to the stringer support as well.
