At the End of the Line
Standing at the end of the line at the east end of the town in Beamish Museum is Peckett 0-6-0ST No.2000 of December 1942. The Type B3 shunter was built at Peckett & Sons Bristol works for the British Sugar Corporation, where it worked at their Ipswich refinery and is presently on loan to Beamish Museum.
On this occasion it is hauling a pair of vintage carriages and letting the visitors sample the delights of a short ride on a steam train.
