dedication on Clifton Suspension Bridge
Opened in 1864. It's a toll bridge linking Clifton in Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset.
The original (1831) design was by Isambard Kingdom Brunel; however construction work was halted in Brunel's lifetime and after his death in 1859 the bridge was completed to revised designs by William Barlow and Sir John Hawkshaw, as marked by the dedication on the east tower (i.e. the Clifton side).
