In the foreground, two young women are playing music on the keyboard and a guitar, while from behind a young man is leaning on an armchair listening. After the delivery, the young woman in the foreground is Marianne Franméry, the wife of the composer François Étienne Franméery. The seated gathering is still emphasized by the sculpture in a niche in the background: the “Prudicitia,” an embodiment of shame. Trinquesse created a new type with this image, in which genre and portrait merged together.
