5. Princes Pier Gatehouse.
The pier was constructed between 1912 and 1915 to supplement the adjacent Station Pier. From completion in 1915 until 1969 it was also a major arrival point for new migrants, particularly during the post-war period.

Fire damage at Princes Pier over the years caused the removal of most of the structure and decking, except for the gatehouse. This building has been conserved and restored, and is used by groups who visit the pier. Today, there was a school group attending.
