Puffins of Eysturoy
While Mykines is the place to go to see Puffins in the Faroe Islands, we were unable to visit due to recent mudslides. Instead there was a small colony on Eysturoy, at Gjógv where it is possible to see them. All it required was a 30 minute climb up a steep, muddy incline and peering out over a cliff, 300' over the North Atlantic. You can see a bit of the climb in a previous image in the upper left.
Despite the slipping and sliding, and my fear of heights, as a first time Puffin experience for us, it was more than worth it!
