どんど焼きとは, しめ縄やお正月飾り, 古いお守りや達磨, 書き初め等を神社境内などでお焚き上げする火祭り行事。正月にお迎えした歳神様がどんど焼きの煙と共にお帰りになるのを感謝を込めてお見送りする行事とされてます。無病息災や家内安全が叶うと言われており, 新しい年の幸せを祈願する行事でもあります。小正月に当たる1月15日前後に行われるのが一般的ですが, 当地では本日1月8日の祭日に行われました。
