LEGO 787 WIP

Well, a whole new project begins!! Actually if you have been following me on youtube I have been working on the design stage of this for a while now but thought that I would share with you what I’m thinking so far. For the leading edge of the wing I plan on using 2x3 white curved slopes and for the trailing edge of the wing I plan on using the 2x4 white curved slopes in order to achieve the airfoil look of the 787. Getting the general geometry of the wings was deffinately and still is going to be incredibly difficult espicially because I am trying to build this model without any studs showing on the top which basically eliminates the use of any wedge plates. For this I plan on using slopes on there side and already have something in mind that might work. Basically a more complicated version of the technic I used on my 737.

The dihedral of this aircraft is also going to be a major pain point when it comes to building this. I have created a relatively strong wingbox that gives about the correct angle and as of right now it seems to be pretty rigid. I am going to try to incopretate power functions motors in the jet engines of this plane just like I did with the 737 and 747 but this will require running those very annoying cables through the wings of the aircraft. And I also want to add brickstuff navigation lights to the wings to add a bit more realism. Another part that is essential for this model is portability. I plan on having this model break apart into many reasonable sized pieces in order to fit it in a suitcase that I can take with me to conventions that are outside of California. Like all of my models this plane will feature retracting landing gear and a full interior that is pretty accurate to the real deal. I almost forgot to mention that the livery of this 787-800 will be in Norwegian airlines so if you have any ideas on who should be on the tail be sure to let me know in the comments.

Most of the time I will put updates to this model on my YouTube channel BigPlanes first but sometimes if I want to just share a WIP picture or two I will put them on here.
