Morning Blue Hour, Northeast Panorama from the Citadel Archeological Site, Amman, Jordan

Went up to the highest point in Amman to catch the sunrise but found the archeological site closed until 8:00 AM... settled for the road around the site, with this panorama looking to the northeast and 11 minutes before sunrise, which was overly muted due to clouds and drizzle... :-(

 

Known in Arabic as Jabal al-Qal'a, this site has neolithic origins and history through the Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian and Crusades periods. The ruins and city were once known as Philadelphia... in the upper left corner, the ruin of a Umayyad Palace can be seen... we'll enjoy cruising the ruins of one of the oldest occupied sites in the world another day...
