GTW 4907 @ Gary, IN
One of the most random trains to appear out of thin air in Northwest Indiana that I’ve had the pleasure of shooting…talk about being at the right place at the right time.
A trio of Grand Trunk & Western GP38-2s (4907/4933/6223) the head two being in Battle Creek Blue, are at the helm of an empty Pet Coke train bound for BP at Whiting, IN. Seen here heading west at “Cavanaugh” while getting off the CN Matteson Sub and onto the Calumet Spur, otherwise known as the CN Whiting Branch, about to duck under the busy Cline Avenue and cut away from Interstate 90 in Gary, Indiana. Taken: 3-7-22
You can always thank NWI for giving you the random trains, still to this day it’s my favorite place to roam cause you just really don’t know what you’re gonna get from each railroad.
