Gaudí on the Holy Family Church, Exhibition CentroCentro, Plaza de Cibeles, Madrid
Until 5 February 2023, Madrid is hosting the GAUDÍ exhibition, where visitors can learn about the life and work of one of the most outstanding figures in architecture and art on an international level.
In the context of Catalan Modernisme, Gaudí developed a radically new architecture with modern and original projects never seen before, conceived as a whole and planning not only the structure of the building but also all the decorative elements it would include.
The GAUDÍ exhibition highlights the originality of the forms, the ornamentation, the chromaticism, the richness of the symbols and nature as a source of inspiration, as the main protagonists of the Catalan's work. In addition to all these elements, which are impressive for their beauty at first sight, other aspects underlying his work are revealed, which reveal his innovative constructive solutions, the fruit of the study and painstaking work to which he devoted his entire life.
The exhibition offers a journey through his entire career through 7 sections and more than 150 works from the most important collections of his work, such as the historical archives of the Architects' Association of Catalonia and the Gaudí Chair, as well as some private collections.
From plans, drawings and models to furniture, ceramics and period photographs. All this brings us closer to his main architectural projects: the Vicens, Botines, Calvet, Batlló and Milà "La Pedrera" houses, as well as the Sagrada Família temple and his projects for Eusebi Güel, among others.
Check out all the information and don't miss this unique opportunity to get to know modernist Barcelona from the hand of one of its greatest representatives: Antoni Gaudí.
