A group of four jays decided the flicker had been hogging the suet for long enough, and mobbed her. Here, contact has been made; that's the jay's right foot on the flicker's back. She, however, proved to be a sturdy girl and repulsed this brush-off, immediately swooping a return to her position at the suet.
