Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church Christ I

The sculpture of Jesus on the cross inside the campanile of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin.

The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Kaiser Wilhelm Gedachtniskirche) is a later-19th century church built in western Berlin and destroyed by bombing in the Second World War.

The remains of the tower still stand, the ruins a contrast to the modern buildings around and the blue stained-glass campanile to its side.

The campanile was built in 1961 to a design by Egon Eiermann, with the figure of Christ on the Cross by Karl Hemmeter.
