The John F. Singer Mansion. Begun in the summer of 1863 and was built for a cost of $75,000.00. It has 6,924 sq. feet of living space. It had 18 rooms and 2 bathrooms, (one with a stained glass window and wooden bathtub with copper lre 12 feet high, Wood work of American Walnut and a circular staircase of inlaid walnut block with marble treads and wood risers. the balustrade is of carved oak, and goes up to the 3rd floor. Two niches for statuary adorn the inner wall. The Gothic of the hallway combines with Moorish-twist columns that support the ceiling of the stairwell. All handcrafted by workers imported from Philadelphia, England, and Italy. Massive crystal chandeliers and three tone marble fireplaces in each room. Built in the Gothic revival style. Added to the National register of historic places in 1974.

Built of sandstone, hammer dressed and regularly coursed, with finely polished ashlar blocks as quoins. The roof is slate, in fish-scale and variegated designs. The bargeborads drip almost menacingly with spindled lacework. Beautiful wrought iron grill guards once covered the basement windows. Besides the mansion there was a Chapel, gatekeepers lodge, red brick stables for horses, carriages, and dogs. A lake, and boathouse, Vineyards, orchards, gardens, these are all gone.ining and sink).
