The National Community Investment Fund (NCIF) invests private capital in, and facilitates knowledge transfer to, depository institutions that increase access to financial services in underserved communities. NCIF was established in 1996 as a nonprofit, private equity fund that is managed by an independent Board of Trustees composed of bankers, private equity professionals and leading economic development experts. NCIF currently has assets of $150 million under management, including $128 million in New Markets Tax Credits. Since inception NCIF has invested in 44 community focused institutions throughout the country.
