Recently moved from film (35 mm) to DSLR still learning and coming to grips with the digital technology. None of my photographs are enhanced in any way apart from cropping. Favourite themes, flora and fawna, pet hates, photographing people, unless in candid shots. Not to keen on over photoshopped pictures, this to me takes the skill out of taking the original image if it later becomes doctored on the computer, this then becomes another form of art. This now begs the question with me, "where does photography cease and computer art take over?

Many of the images that I have submitted have been taken amongst crowds, I enjoy trying to eliminate and leave an uncrowded scene. Popular tourist spots at weekends are a prime example, I don't begrudge others being there, I now get the challenge of trying to eliminate to get the shot that I require (2007). Since writing this several years ago I have progressed from a Canon 450 to now having three 7D bodies and several ' L series ' lens, and now shoot RAW with JPEG. I process using Canon's DPP but have still not gone down the Photoshop/Lightroom techniques. (14/06/2017)
