A respected member of the financial industry, William Deakins helped found the Deakins Family Charitable Foundation in 2001 for the purpose of contributing monetarily to medical and educational causes, as well as to individuals. Some of the groups that William Deakins’ organization has supported in the past include The New York State World Trade Center Fund, St. John’s Riverside Hospital, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and the Richmond Children’s Foundation. William Deakins’ foundation has also donated money to the group Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities (ECAD) and efforts toward restoring the Croton Aqueduct Keeper’s house. A beneficiary of the Deakins Family Charitable Foundation, the Aisling Community Center serves the Irish population of William Deakins’ area by assisting with the reparation of the remains of immigrants back to Ireland, in addition to aiding the local homeless population. Furthermore, he has served as a Member of the Dobbs Ferry Riverside Park Restoration Project and serves as a Member of the Dobbs Ferry Ad Hoc Facilities Committee. William Deakins’ ability to support these projects arises from his background in the financial world. For his education, he attended Union College and Hofstra University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. A few years later, William Deakins accepted a position with Centennial Ventures, Ltd., where he served as a Senior Vice President of Trading. With a business structure comparable to a hedge fund, Centennial Ventures, Ltd. specialized in opportunities involving short- to mid-cap stocks. At this time, William Deakins contributes as an Executive of Candlestick Trading Partners, a financial business based in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
