Hello and welcome to my photostream!

If you haven't already guessed my main passion is trucks, I've been around them for as long as I can remember, rumour has it I even have diesel flowing through my veins as opposed to blood! During my youth I also had an interest in buses/coaches but as time has gone on my interest in the bus/coach scene has become somewhat non-existent. However any bus/coach pictures will remain on here for old times sake but from now on my photostream will primarily be showcasing the various trucks that have I've photographed. The majority of my shots are taken around the Mid Devon area; generally along the M5 and A361 with the odd foray onto the A38 between Burlescombe and Uffculme. There's generally a month behind me photographing and the pictures being uploaded onto here, so if you're looking for a shot please bear with me as it will eventually be uploaded!

Unfortunately I never really photographed many trucks in my younger days, which is something I've come to regret now as many of those companies and makes from my childhood are just a memory now. Living in Mid Devon my earliest trucking memories are wagons from the Luxton and Coombes and Stoford Transport fleets.

In addition to my enthusiasm for photographing all manner of truck related subjects, I enjoy photographing scenic landscapes and historic buildings. Being born and bred in rural Mid-Devon I've always a penchant for tractors and agricultural machinery. As a kid, alongside the trucks, I was madly into the tractors but for some reason they fell out of interest. Fast-forward a good few years I'm rediscovering my enthusiasm for all things tractors and agri so expect more agri related pictures to appear here from time-to-time. If you are a contractor or farmer based around the Mid Devon area then I'd certainly be more than interested to photograph some of the kit in action, so please do not hesitate to contact me via FlickrMail if you'd be happy for me to do so!

The reason for so many photos? I've had to take part-time employment in order to care for my disabled Father, so getting out with the camera gives me a break and a bit of headspace to reset.

As well as the photography I'm keen on local history, and the history of military aviation. My main interest in military aviation is the Fleet Air Arm, this interest covers the time of its conception, right up to the present day. The former RAF V-Force is also a subject of particular interest for me too.

If I'm not out photographing or working I will more than likely be found indulging in my other main passion, walking. I'm lucky enough to reside in rural Mid Devon, so have some wonderful scenery and walking routes on my doorstep.

Ben has a fine collection of photos of the modern day bus scene, particularly around Devon. Buses, coaches and a few other vehicles captured from the best angles, including some very nice close ups. I'd thoroughly recommend a look through Ben's buses, no true enthusiast would be disappointed.
