Most importantly, thank you for reading! My name is Brandon Steven.

 

[WHERE I"M FROM: BACKGROUND INFO] I'm a 20 year old photographer born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut living in East Hartford. As a child, green army-men and G.I Joe's were not as amusing to me. They did not fulfill my needs of "toys". My parents had a Polaroid camera around that house, and that then was the beginning of my huge passion for photography.

 

As my mother always says, “Always follow your dreams that make you the happiest, and never put in half of the effort you are capable of.”

 

[MY PAST AND WHO I AM NOW]

I believe when a person finds a passion that they are truly inspired by and they want to devote their time and energy to it, that’ve found what their life was meant to be mastered at. For me, I know that I have this in my soul, I know that I am meant to be a photographer, I know that I’m meant to work hard for that tittle, because I devote my time and quality into photographing, as well as everything that I do.

 

Each morning, I always think about what the weather is going to be like by the time I get out of school, what am I going to see today that I will need my camera for, and what animal or object am I going to find most appealing. Everyone around me can say that my camera is my necklace; it’s always around my neck. In all serious, I do believe I was destined for photography.

 

I dream of becoming a National Geographic Photographer, I can feel it written in my blood and I will not let that run. I mean, think for a second about it, what kind of 6-7 year old would set up a blanket on the wall, a stool against it and snap photos of their dog and believe that he was a real famous photographer, and as an adult, they’ve managed to keep that hobby and desire to turn it into his main goal in life? I’m that person, I believe that I am that person, and because of that, I found what I truly have a passion for.

 

I’ve been thankful to have created a name for myself through this online portfolio site , as well winning a contest through the James Alan Cox Foundation.

 

I’ve never had any professional teaching for photography, as well as not having the chance to express my work with peers; I’m considering learning photography through my college education and considering branching that into my career field. I’m that person who wants to know everything there is to know about photography and everything that is not required to know about photography.

I'm mostly inspired by my hometown, Hartford, Connecticut. I'm the person who wishes to put my state on the map! It's so small, being next to the smallest state Rhode Island. Also, not many well known people are from here. Born and raised, I wish to be a well known Connecticut human being and show the world my photography and what Connecticut is like in many different perspectives. Or, the way I see it.
