One of my favorite quotes is by a female theologian and it goes something like this: "when a woman's womb goes dark and dusty, like the phoenix, she gives birth to herself". I'm old enough to be re-inventing myself and touching on the creative things that capture me. It is about "seeing" the world in a new way and it feels like photography and mosaics gives me a way to speak to that experience.

I have become a hoarder of things....hide them in little places so that my husband doesn't know EXACTLY how much stuff I pick up from garage sales, thrift stores etc so that I have "options" for my mosaics. Not that he would even care, but holy buckets...do I have TESS!!! Flickr is so full of vibrant, creative spirits and their work, I am inspired.
